SALEM — Madeline Wood’s hat trick was all the offense the Bulldogs needed, as Madison beat Mount Abram 3-0 in a Mountain Valley Conference girls soccer game on Tuesday.

Wood scored twice early in the first half, including one on a free kick and another off a Sydney LeBlanc assist, to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead at halftime (1-1-0).

Midway through the second half, Ashley Emery set up Wood’s third goal to complete the scoring.

Lauren Hay needed only to make one save for the shutout, as Madison outshot Mount Abram (0-1-1) by a 27-2 count.

WATERVILLE 3, WINSLOW 0: Sophie Webb scored three goals to lead the Purple Panthers to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B shutout in Waterville.

Maggie Brock, Mackenzie St. Pierre and Sadie Garling each had an assist for the Panthers.

T.T. Brandon had eight saves to earn the shutout for Waterville (2-0). Broghan Gagnon made 25 stops for Winslow (1-1).

ERSKINE 5, LEAVITT 1: Lauren Wood scored two goals to spark the Eagles to the KVAC B win in Turner.

Kayla Hubbard added a goal and an assist for Erskine (2-0-0) while Peyton Houghton and Kaylee Porter each had a goal apiece. Jaime Boudreau, Summer Hotham and Jenna Lully had one assist each. Caitlin Labbe stopped four shots.

Lindsey Desmais scored for Leavitt (1-1-0). Allie Roux and Shelby Varney combined to make five saves.

MT. BLUE 1, CONY 1: Haley Caswell scored with just over 10 minutes remaining in regulation to earn the KVAC A tie between the Cougars and Rams in Augusta.

Lexi Goulette scored late in the first half to give Cony (0-1-1) the lead, and Gabby Low made 13 saves to preserve the tie.

Addie Schamb had four saves for Mt. Blue (0-1-1).

LEWISTON 4, SKOWHEGAN 1: Four different goal scorers led the Blue Devils to the KVAC A victory in Lewiston.

Emma Duffy scored the lone goal for Skowhegan (0-2-0).

Kajha Gagnon, Megan Morris, Maddy Foster and Hannah Chaput accounted for the goal-scoring for Lewiston (2-0-0).

LAWRENCE 6, MORSE 0: Miranda Lambert and Lexie Laverdiere each scored two goals to lead the Bulldogs to the KVAC A win in Bath.

Katie Kobb and Nora Buck also scored for Lawrence (2-1-0). Marion Zawtowski made two saves.

Morse fell to 1-2-0.

FIELD HOCKEY

WINSLOW 5, WATERVILLE 1: Anna Petrovic netted a hat trick as the Black Raiders picked up their first KVAC B win of the season in Winslow.

Beth Lovely and Weslee Littlefield also scored in the win, while Hope Winkin made six saves for Winslow (1-2-0).

Chrissy Denis scored the Waterville goal (0-2-0).

MCI 16, LINCOLN 2: Jillian Frost scored five goals and Victoria Friend added three more as the Huskies romped in Pittsfield.

Madisyn Hartley and Addi Williams also had multi-goal efforts for unbeaten MCI (3-0-0).

Ryleigh Bickford added a goal and two assists, while Eva Bickford scored once and assisted on another.

SKOWHEGAN 11, HAMPDEN 0: Julia Steeves had three goals and assisted on two others as the Indians improved to 3-0-0 in KVAC A in Skowhegan.

Alexis Machonski and Brooke Hubbard each scored twice and added an assist, while Maliea Kelso also had two goals in the win.

Goalie Ruby Ramsay made 26 saves on 37 shots for Hampden (2-1-0).

MESSALONSKEE 2, EDWARD LITTLE 1: James Kouletsis converted a penalty kick with under five minutes remaining as the Eagles rallied for the KVAC A win in Auburn.

Messalonskee (2-0-0) tied the game at 1-1 when Jack Moore scored with under 10 minutes remaining in regulation.

Chase Warren made five saves to preserve the win for the Eagles.

VALLEY 3, RANGELEY 3: Zac Trafton and Keeghan Farnham each had hat tricks as the Cavaliers and Lakers played to an East-West Conference tie in Rangeley.

Trafton had the only goal of the first half for Rangeley (0-1-1), before the teams traded five goals in the second half.

Farnham scored his third late to salvage the tie for Valley (0-0-1).

Dillon Beane had 16 saves for Valley, while Hunter Lowell made 10 stops in the Rangeley goal.

MT. ARARAT 6, LAWRENCE 1: Travis Nadeau had two goals and assisted on another to lead the Eagles to the KVAC A win in Fairfield.

Jackson Dudley scored for Lawrence (0-2-0). Chris Goulet made six saves for the Bulldogs, while Ben Copeland had two saves.

Mt. Ararat improved to 1-1-0.
