The Oakland Police Department will combine its Open House with Coffee with a Cop from 7 to 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, in the Cascade Room, which is the training room that can be accessed through the rear entrance of the 7 Fairfield St. building.

The United States Department of Justice and Office of Community Oriented Policing Services has partnered with police departments to conduct the first national Coffee with a Cop day.

The event is designed to bring police and community members together in an informal space to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee.

Tours of the new facility will be available throughout the day.
