The Healthy Community Coalition of Greater Franklin County announces its October schedule for mobile health unit outreach. Staff will offer services such as one-on-one health counseling and information; tobacco recovery counseling and information; blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose checks, breast health, cancer prevention, and nutrition information; physical activity games; and assistance with referrals to the Maine Breast and Cervical Health Program and other health assistance programs.

Additional services include colon cancer screening kits for those who qualify and body composition analysis. The test kits, a less invasive way to screen for colon cancer, can be completed in the privacy of one’s own home. Body composition analysis allows participants to track changes in muscle and fat tissue, when weight may not change.

The schedule is as follows:

• Saturday, Oct. 1, 9 a.m.-noon, Senior Expo, Mt. Blue High School Campus;

• Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2-5 p.m., Farmington Wal-Mart;

• Wednesday, Oct. 5, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Fotter’s Market in Stratton; and 2-5 p.m., Tranten’s in Kingfield;
