WILTON — An informative session with Russell Black, maple syrup producer, representative tree farmer and SWOAM member, is set for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 15, at his farm, Black Acres, 123 Black Road.

Black, a representative from CDL Maine, a new distributor in Wilton of all things Maple syrup production, will give a tour of his sugarbush and layout. Black will go into the finer points of using 3/16-inch tubing for the small to large producer.

The workshop is for woodland-owners considering syrup production, or for those who might seek ways to improve their existing operation.

This free session will be presented by Upper Kennebec Valley chapter of the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine and co-sponsored by the Maine Maple Producers.

Dress for the weather because some of the tour will be outside. There is no need to pre-register.
