A woman was seriously hurt and more than a dozen pets were killed in a house fire in Lisbon Saturday.
The fire broke out at 64 Summer St. at about 3:30 p.m., WCSH reported.
Amanda Wrobel was home alone. She was taken to Maine Medical Center, where she was in critical condition Saturday night with burns and injuries from smoke inhalation.
Wrobel was awakened by one of the dogs in her home when the fire started, fire officials said. Several dogs and cats were killed in the fire. Fire officials were not able to say Saturday whether the home was equipped with a working smoke detector.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by Lisbon Fire Department and the state Fire Marshal’s Office.
It took firefighters several hours to extinguish the fire, which destroyed the home.
