The citizens of Maine have made a choice to submit citizen initiatives because of the lack of action on the part of the Legislature and governor. Minimum wage, gun background checks and school funding have all been before the Legislature and have not been acted upon.

If a government of the people does not do the work for the people, sometimes the people end up doing the work. Anyone in government who does not like the questions should have does the work in the first place.
