A couple from Bangor were sentenced to prison Monday for allowing drug dealers to store heroin and sell it from their home.

Daniel Lyons, 42, and Laura Lyons, 31, were given heroin in exchange for hosting the illicit operation for most of 2014, U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II said in a news release.

Daniel Lyons was sentenced to three years in prison and Laura Lyons was sentenced to two years. Both were ordered to undergo three years of supervised release after their release.

Both pleaded guilty earlier this year to maintaining a drug-involved premise. Their home was in a trailer park.

According to the prosecution, the married couple rented, used and maintained their home at 979 Essex St. for use by drug dealers, who stored and sold heroin to people in the area. They had a child living with them at the time, though court records do not indicate how old the child was.

“Customers routinely came to the residence, met with the heroin dealers, obtained heroin in the residence and left,” Delahanty said in court documents. “These transactions occurred on a daily basis over a prolonged period of time.”

Prosecutors identified the drug dealers who used the Lyonses’ home as being from New York.
