AUGUSTA — Award-winning producer and author Andrew Och known in Beltway circles as the “First Ladies Man,” will make a special appearance at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, in the Maine State Library in Augusta. He will share stories from his recently published book, “Unusual for Their Time,” and offer insight into the public and private lives of America’s first ladies. He wrote the book after spending over a year travelling the U.S. as a producer for the acclaimed C-SPAN series on presidential wives, “First Ladies: Influence and Image.”

“The first lady is arguably the most powerful unelected woman in the world,” said Och. “Even Bess Truman, one of the quietest and seemingly uninvolved first ladies, was in on some very serious military and political decisions.”

There is no cost to attend. For more information, call 287-5620.
