Girl Scout Daisy/Brownie Troop 70 of Gardiner welcomed Helania Lake, a disabled veteran, and her service dog, Xena, to its Nov. 9 meeting.
Members asked questions about her service, met her dog, and gave a gift of toys and a T-shirt featuring their handprints to Lake.
The girls recently learned about veterans and those with service dogs at a previous meeting. These actions helped them to earn a “I support my troops” patch.
The troop also recently volunteered at the Christ Church Honor a veteran luncheon.
