A New York City man was arrested in Bangor Monday night on charges of trafficking crack cocaine, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency said in a statement.
Tylee Felder, 21, of Brooklyn, was arrested after he got off a bus on Union Street in Bangor. When officers approached Felder, he fled, leading them on a quarter-mile foot chase.
Just before he was apprehended, police said they saw Felder throw a bag onto the side of the road. It was later determined that the bag contained 2 ounces of cocaine valued at $6,000.
Felder is being held at the Penobscot County Jail on a Class A charge of aggravated trafficking in Schedule W drugs (cocaine base). The charge was upgraded due to the amount of drugs that were seized. His bail was set at $15,000 cash.
