The Vistas in Education family stay program seeks hosts for French students, age 12-18, who want to experience a rich, indepth experience of American life through the family stay program.

The students will arrive with their chaperone July 10 and return home around July 30. They are learning English, though their speaking skills vary. They are generally mature, adaptable, curious and sensitive to other cultures. They are in good health and fully covered by VIE’s comprehensive insurance plan.

Host families include the French student in everyday family life, like routine outings — shopping, visiting relatives and local sightseeing — as well as any special activities the family might plan, and introduce them to friends and community. Families provide room, board and transportation.

The students also have a spending allowance for their stay. The organization is also looking for a family to host their chaperone.

For more information and a family stay application, contact Maine family stay coordinator, Anne Smith at 462-8757 or a.smith@msad17.org.
