Three men who saved a 16-year-old girl from drowning in Waterboro are being praised for their efforts after the rescue was caught on video.

The teenager had fallen off a snowmobile and broken through the frozen surface of Little Ossipee Pond on Feb. 4, WCSH reports.

Bill Rodgers, Brandon Jackson and Taylor Dion rushed to her rescue and pulled her out with a rope, according to the TV station.

“She was probably about 20 or 30 feet off the ice in the water and about the time we were there she was starting to slow down pretty good and not say much,” Rodgers said. “[She was] just white and purple lips and just cold. She was frantic when we got her to the ice. She was afraid that she was dying,” he said.
