WATERVILLE — Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area will offer a 20-hour facilitator training for its grieving children’s program, Hope’s Place, starting Monday, March 6. Training is set for 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturdays, March 11 and 18, and 5:30-8:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, March 6, 8, 13 and 15, at the center, 304 Main St.

Those who complete the training can co-facilitate a peer grief support group for children, teens, and their parents or guardians.

The mission of Hope’s Place is to provide a safe, supportive environment for grieving children, teens and families through peer support groups, which nurture and encourage safe expression of grief and loss. The program honors each person’s individuality and their process towards discovery of resiliency and emotional well-being.

This training can prepare individuals for facilitating adult grief support groups such as widow/widowers, grieving parents, infant loss, adults grieving parents, survivors of suicide, six-week general loss, women’s and men’s groups.

Training will be taught by the staff and volunteers of the center.

There will be a $30 processing fee for materials. For more information, call Bereavement/Youth Services Coordinator Jillian Roy at 873-3615, email at [email protected] or visit www.hvwa.org.
