MERCER — The Sandy River 3 will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at the Mercer Community Center, 1015 Beech Hill Road.

The trio features bluegrass songwriter Stan Keach on guitar, Julie Davenport on upright bass, and Bud Godsoe on banjo and dobro.

The band is a pared-down version of the Sandy River Ramblers, who has performed several times at the center, according to a news release from the center.

“This will be different from Rambler concerts,” said Keach, according to the release. “With the Sandy River 3, we do a little more country, rock and blues; we’ll still do some of our songs about Maine, of course, but our act has a lot of variety in it. It’ll surprise some people.”

Admission will cost $7 for adults, $5 for students and is free for children 10 and younger. Refreshments will be available for sale at intermission. Concert proceeds will benefit the center.
