CLINTON — Local police are investigating a burglary the resulted in the loss of more than $1,000 worth of goods and cash stolen in mid-afternoon Thursday.

Two burglars reportedly walked through the yard of a Hinckley Road residence, opened an unlocked window and boosted each other through, according to Officer Phil DiLuca.

While nobody was at home at the time, witnesses reportedly saw the burglary, which was reported around 2:42 p.m. The pair stole precious jewelry and cash, and the exact value is still being determined, DiLuca said.

DiLuca said police have identified suspects and expect to make arrests shortly. Some of the stolen property already has been recovered, he said.
