AUGUSTA — Fort Western Living History Museum, 16 Cony St., will open for the season this weekend.

On Memorial Day, Daniel Savage’s Company will be present to demonstrate a soldier’s life during the Revolutionary War. Visitors can learn about basic campfire cooking as well as starting a fire with flint and steel at 12:30 p.m.

There will be musket demonstrations and a presentation of 18th-century medical techniques by “Dr. Cony” in the parlor. Soldier’s equipment will be on display and visitors can learn about the Hallowell militia during the American Revolution.

Museum hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
