Beatrice Adams, being one of the oldest Pittston residents, born on Oct. 20, 1920, in Sumner, is one of the recipients of Pittston’s Boston Post Cane.
Adams is 96 and has lived in Pittston for 35 years. She was married to James Adams, who worked for the State Police. She has three children, Paulette Tuttle, Priscilla Crawford and Marsha Myrick. She also has three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her favorite things to do is visit with her grandchildren and friends.
During World War I, Adams worked in a shipyard in Portland welding ships.
