DAMARISCOTTA — A benefit for The Damariscotta Mills Fish Ladder Restoration is planned for Wednesday, June 14, at Savory Maine, 11 Water St. Doors will open for dinner and music at 5 p.m.

Open Mic will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m., with a 15-minute break. Musician signup will begin at 5:30 p.m. Open mic is a series of eight-minute, two-song slots, and is designed for individual or small group performances. Musicians, singers, poets and other performers. There will even be a performance of a special song written for the Fish Ladder Restoration.

The restaurant will donate half the proceeds from sales for the evening. Additional contributions to aid the Fish Ladder Restoration will be accepted.

This is the 10th anniversary of the community’s efforts to raise money to restore the fish ladder. The restored fish ladder has greatly assisted the movement of the alewives into Damariscotta Lake to spawn, with the run increasing from 100,000 to more than one million in one season.
