UNION — Musician Ragtime Jack will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, June 23, at Vose Library, 392 Common Road.

Jack Radcliffe will perform early jazz, blues and Appalachian music.

Radcliffe brings his piano, guitar, fiddle, voice, wit and wisdom with him wherever he goes. Hehas been performing for more than 40 years. He was a fixture on the coffeehouse circuit in the late ’60s and early ’70s. His band The New Viper Revue pushed the genre envelopes of blues, folk, country, rock ‘n’ roll and jazz from 1972-76. He resumed his solo career in 1977, then teamed up with reed player Al Oliveira in 1983, as half of The World’s Smallest Big Jazz Band.

He is a master of traditional country blues and ragtime andstride piano, and a powerful singer of songs from the Great American songbook. He also accompanies himself on the guitar and fiddle.

Tickets will cost $15 at the door, part of the proceeds benefit the library.
