The Pittsfield Public Library will kick off its summer reading program from 10:30 a.m. to noon Monday, June 26.

Drop in to register for the program and get a schedule of summer events. Pick up free Sea Dogs baseball tickets and a free book. The kickoff event will feature refreshments, face painting and a pony.

“Butterfly Guy” Jerry Schneider will be at the library at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, to present a program on the lives and habitats of butterflies. Make your own butterfly T-shirt, bring your own T-shirt or purchase one for $4.

A food corp representative will present Kids in the Garden at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 29. Participants can learn about plants, have snacks and participant in crafts.
