The East Madison Days celebration is planned for Friday, July 14, through Sunday, July 16. The event is sponsored by the East Madison Historical Association.

Friday’s event will begin at 7 p.m. at the East Madison Grange and will feature authors Bob Clement and Katie Ouillette. Bob Choiniere will entertain attendees with his piano tunes as well.

Clement will talk about his path to becoming an author and will read from his books. Ouillette will read from and sign her book “Two Birds in a Box.” Additionally, poems by Florence Burrill Jacobs will be shared.

Saturday’s events will begin at the historical building and will feature a yard sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

An East Madison version of the “Antiques Roadshow,” with Tim Pomelow as the appraiser, will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. The public is invited to bring up to three items to be appraised. There is no fee, but a $5 donation is suggested. All proceeds benefit the historical association.

A baked bean/American chop suey dinner is scheduled for 4:30-6 p.m. Saturday at the East Madison Grange. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children younger than 12.

The yard sale will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday and a hot dog/dynamite luncheon is slated from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the fire station. Cost is $5. Items also are sold a la carte.

The East Madison Historical Association buildings will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Membership forms will be available. Membership fees are $5 per person.

The association meets at 1 p.m. the third Thursday of each month. The building is open 1 to 4 p.m. the first and third Thursdays of each month and by request.
