An artist’s reception for Sally Loughridge is scheduled for 4-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at The Brunswick Inn, 165 Park Row in Brunswick.

Loughridge’s original paintings have graced the Inn’s Carriage House for the last few years. Several of her paintings of Maine land and seascapes also hang in the common area of the Inn itself.

This sampling of some 20 works presents a wide range of paintings of Maine. Exhibiting widely in the MidCoast for over 16 years, Loughridge paints natural scenes that resonate emotionally and visually with her. She is particularly drawn to shapes and shifts of light and shadow, whether falling on blueberry barrens, rock formations or intersections of sky and sea.

Loughridge also regularly exhibits her artwork at Pemaquid Art Gallery, Mast Cove Galleries in Kennebunkport, Tidemark Gallery in Waldoboro, and Archipelago in Rockland.
