WAYNE — Impeachment & Other Checks on Executive Power, a discussion by David Webbert and James Friedman, will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at Cary Memorial Library’s Williams House, 14 Old Winthrop Road.

They will discuss impeachment, criminal prosecution, civil rights claims and other checks on executive power. The program will be followed by a reception featuring wine, hors d’oeuvres and desserts.

Webbert, who lived in Wayne from 1990 to 2014, went to Harvard Law, clerked for the DC federal court of appeals, and specializes in employment law, civil rights and complex litigation. For more information, visit johnsonwebbert.com.

Friedman is a Professor of Law Emeritus at the University of Maine School of Law where he taught constitutional law, philosophy, and terrorism from 1980 to 2014. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Chicago. He focused on counter terrorism as a visiting professor at University College, Galway and West Point, and as a visiting scholar at Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
