SKOWHEGAN — The Skowhegan Woman’s Club is celebrating its 136th anniversary. One of the main functions of the club is volunteering in the community and lending a hand. Recently members of the GFWC, Skowhegan Woman’s Club, Debra Burnham, treasurer, and Joyce Noonan, fundraising chairwoman, handed Dale Jandreau, director of the Skowhegan Free Public Library, a check for $500. This major donation was the result of a lawn sale held June 3 at the Skowhegan Savings Bank’s lower parking lot. Funds will support to the library’s elevator fund which is nearing completion.
