A Portland woman remained in jail Tuesday night after she was arrested for allegedly using her vehicle to hit a Falmouth man in his own driveway.

Falmouth police Lt. John Kilbride identified the suspect as Paula Finlay, 51.

Finlay, who is being held at the Cumberland County Jail, faces charges of aggravated assault, criminal mischief, and violation of conditions of release. Portland police also have two unrelated warrants for her arrest.

Kilbride said that Finlay was arrested Tuesday at Willard Beach in South Portland without incident by local police.

According to a statement posted on Facebook by Falmouth police, a Foreside Road man confronted Finlay late Saturday night after she parked in his driveway.

“Ms. Finlay accelerated her vehicle and struck the resident, throwing him over the hood and into the windshield,” Kilbride said in a statement. “The resident rolled off the vehicle and onto Foreside Road as Ms. Finlay fled the scene.”

The man’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
