WISCASSET — An outdoor space in Wiscasset Village will become a new venue for three-dimensional art starting with the Wiscasset Art Walk set for 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31.

The stone and brick courtyard behind In the Clover, at 85A Main St,. will be an exhibit space for sculpture, demos and music. The inaugural exhibit is Garden Art in the Courtyard featuring specialty pieces to enhance the garden experience.

Wiscasset sculptor Bryan Buck, who works in iron, will install “Dancing Girl” in the courtyard.

Also on display will be works for the garden by ceramic artist John Fazzino. Fazzino uses a high fire stoneware body with a variety of hand-building techniques — coiling, slab, press mold, pinching, carving and scraping — to achieve tactile and sensual effects.

For Karen Okie, owner of Sheepscot River Pottery in Edgecomb, will take part in the Art Walk. She will showcase larger pieces from her collection, intended for outdoor use.

Together, this group of exhibitors will offer visitors an eclectic, colorful and inspiring assortment of pieces.

Wiscasset Art Walks are held on the last Thursday of the summer months, the Sept. 28 event will be the final Art Walk of the season. Participant sites are marked with colorful streamers and touring maps are available throughout the village.
