WISCASSET — Fashions of Their Times, 1805-1925, will be the topic from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 9, at Nickels-Sortwell House, 121 Main St.
Wiscasset site manager and historic costume collector Peggy Konitzky will talk about the wild ride of fashion from the early 19th century to the Roaring Twenties. Participants can get an up-close look at the types of clothes the women of Castle Tucker and the Nickels-Sortwell House would have worn.
The event will feature an illustrated slide show and examples from Konisky’s personal collection as well as the collection of local antique dealer Faye Snyder of Parade Antiques.
Cost is $15 for Historic New England members or $25 nonmembers. Advance registration is required.
