Allagash will soon be offering its Sixteen Counties beer in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles as the company continues to evolve its offerings. The company has taken a hoppy turn in the past two years, introducing Hoppy Table Beer and Sixteen Counties – a hoppy ale made with ingredients from every county in Maine – as consumers continue to show a preference for IPAs.
The beer was previously available only in 750 milliliter bottles (about 25 ounces). The switch to 12-ounce bottles should make the beer more accessible, company founder Rob Tod said.
“We’re really excited about the switch to this new format,” Tod said in a news release. “This beer was made in tribute to the robust local agriculture we have in Maine, and a 12 oz. bottle just made a bit more sense to us. We think this is a beer that you can enjoy every day, not just on special occasions.”
The bottles will be released next week.
Allagash will also be keeping it local on Black Friday, as it will donate all proceeds from tasting pours at its Portland taproom to support the Sebago Lake watershed. Allagash will also be accepting cans of food to benefit Wayside Food Programs. The company says customers will get a “special treat” in exchange for a food donation.
