WINTHROP — Archival enthusiast and photo specialist Cheryl Freye will give a talk focusing on photo preservation and organization at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Bailey Public Library, 39 Bowdoin St.
As part of the talk, Freye will present a process for organizing printed and digital photos, digitizing old photographs, and proper planning and precautions for protecting tangible photos and the accompanying stories and memories.
Freye has specialized in photo preservation since 2005 and is a lead ambassador with Forever.com, a digital archive company.
Freye grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated with a degree in finance from Bucknell University. She has lived in Winthrop since 1982 and serves on the Board of Directors of the Winthrop YMCA, and Finance Committee at Christ Church in Gardiner.
The free event is part of the ongoing Lakes Region Forum sponsored by the Winthrop Public Library Foundation.
