AUGUSTA — The Rev. Mark Tanner, of Skowhegan, served as the Pastor of the Day on Jan. 18, delivering the opening prayer in the Maine Senate. During his visit to the State House, he met with Sen. Rod Whittemore. R-Skowhegan, and Rep. Brad Farrin, R-Norridgewock, according to a news release from the Senate Republican Office.

Tanner serves the congregation at the Skowhegan Federated Church.

“It was a pleasure to have Rev. Tanner join us in Augusta to begin our day’s work with a special prayer,” said Whittemore, according to the release.

“Thanks to Rev. Tanner for taking the time to share a prayer with my Senate colleagues,” said Farrin, according to the release. “It’s always a pleasure to see a familiar face in the halls of the State House.”
