WESTON, Mass. — Darian Berry scored a game-high 24 points Tuesday night as St. Joseph’s topped Regis 73-58 in men’s basketball.

Berry shot 10 of 15 from the field knocking down four 3-pointers for the Monks (14-8, 9-4 GNAC), who have won two straight and 4 of 5.

Jack Casale added 17 points off the bench for the Monks.

St. Joseph’s led the Pride (11-11, 8-6) at halftime, 40-28.

(5) XAVIER 98, BUTLER 93: Trevon Bluiett scored 17 of his 26 points in the final 141/2 minutes of regulation and overtime to help the Musketeers (22-3, 10-2 Big East) edge the Bulldogs (17-8, 7-5) at Indianapolis.

Kerem Kanter added 22 points, including the go-ahead basket with 2:56 left in overtime, which started the decisive 5-0 run. The Musketeers have won seven straight and three in a row in the series.

Kelan Martin had 34 points and Sean McDermott finished with 17 to lead the Bulldogs, whose four-game winning streak was snapped.

(6) CINCINNATI 77, CENTRAL FLORIDA 40: Kyle Washington scored 13 points, Gary Clark added 12, and the Bearcats (22-2, 11-0 American Athletic) gave another dominating defensive performance in beating the visiting Knights (14-9, 5-6) for their 15th straight win.

The Bearcats dug in against a low-scoring team and extended the nation’s longest active home-court winning streak to 39 games. The Knights managed only 13 points in the first half, matching the fewest that Cincinnati has allowed in an opening half during Coach Mick Cronin’s 12 seasons.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

ST. JOSEPH’S 73, SUFFOLK 45: Emily Benway had eight of her 16 points in the first half as the Monks (20-1, 12-0 GNAC) jumped to a 36-24 halftime lead, rolling to their 20th consecutive win, downing the Rams (15-6, 9-3) at Standish.

Kelsi McNamara led St. Joseph’s with 17 points, and Julia Champagne tossed in 12 points.

Jordan Hipwell and Jenni-Rose DiDecco each had nine points for Suffolk.

COLBY 72, UM-FARMINGTON 36: Haley Driscoll scored 18 points and Jackie Albanese added 14 points as the Mules (10-12) handled the Beavers (6-15) in Waterville.

Ainsley Burns had 10 points for Colby, which built a 34-12 lead in the first half, holding UMF to three points in the second quarter.

Kelsey Talarico had 13 points and Morgan Crocker finished with 10 for UMF.

NOTES

UCONN: Athletic Director David Benedict said the school will fight to protect its men’s basketball program, which is the subject of an NCAA investigation and that he will evaluate the future of Coach Kevin Ollie after the season.

Benedict declined to say what the NCAA is investigating.

KENTUCKY: Kentucky suspended injured forward Tai Wynyard from team activities until further notice for an unspecified violation of team rules.

The 6-foot-10 sophomore’s discipline was confirmed by men’s basketball spokesman Eric Lindsey without specifics. Wynyard has missed the past 10 games with a disk issue.
