WATERVILLE — A free day of cross-country skiing and other winter activities are scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 18, at Quarry Road Trails, 300 Quarry Road.

The Welcome Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to provide free snowshoes to loan, ski equipment rentals, snacks and information. Ski and snowshoe trails are open all day throughout the season with lighting on more than a mile of trail for night skiing until 9 p.m. The state-of-the-art snowmaking system ensures that the ski trails are covered even in periods of low natural snowfall.

The Winter Fun Day is the February feature event in Inland Hospital’s Let’s Go! Family Fun Series. Program participants are encouraged to bring their passports and others can sign up between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the event for the free year-long program offering family-friendly events each month. Activities will include skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, winter biking, a winter StoryWalk, snowflake art and more.

These free events and the Quarry Road Trails are supported through ski pass sales, donations, collaboration with partnering organizations, and contributions from annual sponsors.
