FARMINGTON — Christopher Bakken will be the next reader in the University of Maine at Farmington’s Visiting Writers Series scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, in The Landing in the UMF Olsen Student Center, South Street.

The free reading will be followed by a meet and greet with the author.

Bakken is the author of the culinary memoir, “Honey, Olives, Octopus: Adventures at the Greek Table,” as well as three books of poetry, most recently “Eternity & Oranges.” He also co-translated “The Lions’ Gate: Selected Poems of Titos Patrikios.”

Bakken has served as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Bucharest and he is Frederick F. Seely Professor of English at Allegheny College.

The event is sponsored by the UMF Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program.
