AUGUSTA — A multi-farmer CSA Fair will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at Lithgow Public Library, 45 Winthrop St. Admission is free.

Community Supported Agriculture, also called farm shares, is an opportunity to purchase local, seasonal food directly from a farmer. By paying before the start of the growing season, participants support the farmer through the early days and can reap the rewards of the harvest throughout the growing season.

The CSA boxes of produce can be picked up at farmers markets or at the farm, delivery to one’s home or office also is available. Some farms have add-ons available, such as eggs, meat and dairy. Farm shares can be small enough for a single person or large enough to feed a family.

Farmers interested in participating in the fair can contact Julie Olson, adult services librarian, at the library.
