The season is not over yet for the University of Maine at Augusta women’s basketball team.

The Moose (22-5) have been selected to play in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division II National Championship Tournament, which will be hosted

at Penn State Fayette in Uniondale, Pennsylvania.

UMA is scheduled to play Villa Maria College of Buffalo, New York in the quarterfinal round, scheduled for March 1.

The Moose last played Sunday, falling to Central Maine Community College 74-58 in the Yankee Small College Conference championship game. The Mustangs (28-1) are also in the USCAA tourney, in the same bracket as UMA. They could potentially meet in the championship game, scheduled for March 3.

Should that happen, it would be the fourth time the Moose and Mustangs have played each other, with CMCC taking all three meetings. The closest the Moose have come to upending the Mustangs was in a 74-64 loss back on Jan. 30.
