READFIELD — A book talk by local author and historian Dale Potter-Clark is scheduled for 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, March 12, at Readfield Community Library, 1151 Main St. A snow date is scheduled for March 14.

Potter-Clark will discuss “The Founders and Evolution of Summer Resorts and Kids’ Camps on Four Lakes in Central Maine,” the book she co-authored with Charles L. Day. The 356-page book includes 220 vintage photos and information about more than 40 camps and resorts that once existed on Lovejoy, Torsey, Echo and Maranacook lakes. Also included in the book are chapters about the coming of the railroad, steamboats and the trolley as well as tourism to this area in its early years and more.

Following the book talk and reading, the author will be available to sign copies of the book.
