STANDISH — Kayla Kelly and Kara Kelly each scored five goals and had two assists Tuesday as St. Joseph’s opened its Great Northeast Athletic Conference schedule with a 16-9 women’s lacrosse win over Simmons.

Elyse Caiazzo added four goals for the Monks (4-0), who led 8-4 at the half.

Elena Bragg scored four goals for Simmons (4-2).

BOWDOIN 16, ENDICOTT 6: The Polar Bears (6-1) led 10-1 at the half and cruised to victory over the Gulls (4-2) in Beverly, Massachusetts.

MEN’S LACROSSE

CURRY 19, SOUTHERN MAINE 6: Jake Stebbins and Devin Newell each scored three goals to lead the Colonels (4-2) over the Huskies (1-3) in Milton, Massachusetts.

Paul Leonardo had three goals for USM.

BATES 21, KEENE ST. 8: Matt Chlastawa scored seven goals and picked up three assists to lead the Bobcats (4-3) over the Owls (3-3) in Lewiston.

BOWDOIN 21, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 5: The Polar Bears (3-2) led 13-2 at the half and defeated the Nor’easters (4-2) in Brunswick.

Shawn Daly led Bowdoin with three goals and five assists.

Alex Zadworny had a goal with two assists for UNE.

ST. JOSEPH’S 16, THOMAS 4: The Monks (2-4) raced to a 13-0 lead and defeated the Terriers (0-1) in Standish.

Luigi Grimaldi led St. Joseph’s with four goals.

Colby Blondin had a hat trick for Thomas.

SOFTBALL

BOWDOIN 10, FREDONIA 0: Ruby Siltanen pitched a two-hitter and seven players drove in runs for the Polar Bears (8-3) as they defeated the Blue Devils (6-9) in five innings in Clermont, Florida.

Siltanen (3-0) struck out four in the shutout and led Bowdoin with two hits and two RBI.

BASEBALL

BOWDOIN 11, BABSON 4: Joe Gentile and Austin Zakow each hit a two-run double in the third inning to put Bowdoin ahead 5-1 and the Polar Bears (4-5) went on to defeat the Beavers (6-4) in Auburndale, Florida.

Zakow added a two-run single in the sixth inning to extend the Bowdoin lead to 11-3, and he finished with four RBI. Matt Nakamoto added three hits and scored twice.
