Viles Arboretum board member Hillary Schultz, of Rome, has been named the winner of a quilt, designed and hand quilted by the Seam Strippers of South China. The quilt, donated in support of the arboretum and its new permaculture collection, had garnered dozens of ticket buyers.

The arboretum is located in Augusta, on 224 acres of fields, forests, wetlands and with botanical collections from around the world. It offers an ever-changing selection of inspirational exhibits, educational and practical programs for the general public and for schools. The arboretum focuses on interactive, creative and hands-on teaching with a focus on botany and natural history. Its goal is to unlock everyone’s natural ability to understand the nature of the world through their own eyes and by using their own intellect.
