Maine Music Society Chorale will present Favorites from the Great American Songbook at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 19, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at the Gendron Franco Center’s performance hall, 46 Cedar St. in Lewiston.

These songs written for musical theater and movies between the 1920s and 1950s are characterized by witty lyrics and delightfully surprising rhymes. With titles like “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” and “Just One of Those Things” by Cole Porter and ” ‘S Wonderful,” “They Can’t Take That Away From Me,” and “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off” by George Gershwin, everyone will want to sing along.

Tickets cost $20-$22 for adults, $18-$20 for senior, $10-$12 for students and children younger than 12 will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
