SKOWHEGAN — Ashley Alward struck out 18 in a two-hit shutout, leading the Skowhegan softball team to a 9-0 win over Mt. Ararat in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Tuesday afternoon.

Alward also homered and drove in two runs for Skowhegan (13-0), while Wiley Bedard added a pair of hits and two RBIs. Julia Steeves also had two hits in the win.

Zoe Stilphen and Jaden Lohr accounted for the two Mt. Ararat (6-8) hits.

VALLEY 20, RANGELEY 9: The Cavs pounded out 19 hits and led all the way for the East/West Conference win in Rangeley.

Jada Ward had three hits, including a double, and five RBIs for Valley (5-5). Cylee Pratt added three hits and four RBIs.

Sydney Royce and Hannah McMillan each drove in two runs for Rangeley (4-7).

RICHMOND 9, BUCKFIELD 5: Caitlin Kendrick had a home run and a triple to lead the Bobcats to an East/West win over the Bucks in Richmond.

Sydney Underhill-Tilton had a triple for Richmond (11-1) and also earned the win in the circle. Bryanne Lancaster had two hits, while Bryannah Shea had three singles and three RBIs for the Bobcats.

Cara Merrill and Hannah Shields each had triples for Buckfield (8-4).

WATERVILLE 12, MARANACOOK 8: Molly Wasilewski homered as part of a three-hit day, powering the Purple Panthers to the KVAC B win in Waterville.

Elyssa Giguere collected four hits, including a double, for Waterville (4-10). In all, the Panthers had 20 hits.

Abygail Jacques and Natalie Costa each had three hits for Maranacook (6-8).

OAK HILL 16, TELSTAR 4: Abby Nadeau had three hits and four RBIs as the Raiders rolled to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Bethel.

Mahala Smith homered and drove in two runs for Oak Hill (11-2).

Telstar dropped to 3-8.

BOYS LACROSSE

WINSLOW 12, JOHN BAPST 3: Bryce Hillier scored four goals and had two assists to lead the Black Raiders to a win over the Crusaders.

Colby Nadeau had three goals and two assists, while Jared Lambert and Isaac Lambrecht each had two goals and an assist for Winslow (5-4). Jamison Carey added a goal.

Colby Drown scored three goals for John Bapst (0-9).

CONY 9, EDWARD LITTLE 8: Nick Robinson scored five goals, including the game-winner, to lead the Rams to the KVAC win in Augusta.

Cam Gallant made 19 saves for Cony (4-6). Collin Osbourne, Micquais Biasuz, Isaac Beloff and Quincy Tobias all scored goals.

Spencer Fraun and Eli Thibodeau each scored three goals for Edward Little (3-7).

MT. ARARAT 10, MESSALONSKEE 5: Connor Brown scored five goals to lead Mt. Ararat (6-5) to the win in Topsham. Jacob Sargent and Zach Caulette added two goals apiece while Sean Roberts rounded out the scoring.

Alden Balboni had a hat trick for Messalonskee (5-5) while Austin Pelletier and Colin Kinney had a goal apiece. Dawson Charles made five saves.

BASEBALL

RANGELEY 11, VALLEY 4: Brian Williamson had two hits, including a double, and drove in four runs as the Lakers won the East/West game in Rangeley.

Kyle LaRochelle and Bo Beaulieu each added two hits for Rangeley (7-5), with LaRochelle driving in a pair of runs.

Dillon Beane, Nate Miller and Thomas Bishop each had singles for Valley (0-9).
