Alfred W. Maxwell Jr. Post American Legion 40 has announced its annual 4th of July events planned at 117 Bowdoin St. in Winthrop

The block party, silent auction and bake sale, hosted by the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 40 Winthrop, will be begin at noon. Hamburgers, hotdogs, fries will be provided by the VFW, with cotton candy provided by the Sons of the American Legion.

The event also will include the American Legion chicken barbecue and American Legion Riders Popcorn.

Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m.
