The former operators of the popular Hoss and Mary’s restaurant will return to the Maine food scene this weekend.

Hoss Coddens and Deena “Mary” Eskew, the former owners of the popular Old Orchard Beach restaurant that closed in 2015, will open a food trailer Saturday evening at Congdon’s After Dark, a food truck park with beer garden in Wells.

Coddens said they plan to serve up their signature “tasty grub” at least five days a week through the summer. The menu will include his signature burgers, cheesecakes and hot dogs, and Eskew’s popular Mother Futcher’s coffee cake.

Hoss and Mary’s developed a devoted following of fans during the years the restaurant was open in York County and was featured on a 2010 episode Man Vs. Food. Coddens and Eskew closed the restaurant in 2015 to move back to Key West, where they had met while working in the restaurant industry. After returning to Florida, they opened a food truck at a marina and rode out Hurricane Irma, which devastated the Keys.

Coddens and Eskew returned to Maine this spring and plan to open a restaurant with a similar setup to the one they previously ran in Old Orchard Beach. The menu featured innovative comfort food – heavy on burgers and cheesecakes – that fans often posted photos of online.
