FALMOUTH — Shannon Johnson shot 68 in the second round to take a four-shot lead at the New England Women’s Golf Association Championship at The Woodlands Club on Tuesday.

Johnson, of Norton, Massachusetts, is 4-under par for the tournament after shooting 72 on the first day. Hannah Ghefli, who shot a 71 on Tuesday, is at even par for the tournament. Sophie DiPetrillo is three shots back after shooting a 73 in the second round.

Erin Holmes of Gray is the top Maine player after the second round at 21 over. Holmes shot 79 in the first round and an 86 on Tuesday. Bailey Plourde of Newcastle shot 80 on Tuesday and is two shots back of Holmes.

Maria Cianchette is 28 over after a second-round 85.
