Wayne’s Cary Library will hold its 7th annual 5K Walk/Run/Race at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Wayne Elementary School, 48 Pond Road. Registration will begin at 8:15 a.m.
The race course is primarily flat and fast, with one good hill. There will be an official timer and prizes for the top finishers.
Runners go first, then fast walkers in front followed by children, pets, strollers and pet walkers toward the back. This is a family friendly event, with prizes for all children participating.
Spectators are encouraged to come out and cheer on participants.
The race fee is $15. For registration forms or post race results, visit cary-memorial.lib.me.us. Registration forms also are available at the library. The form and check can be mailed to Cary Memorial Library, P.O. Box 127, Wayne ME 04284.
