The Richmond Area Health Center 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk will take place Saturday, July 28, as part of the 2017 Richmond Days festivities. The course will wind through downtown Richmond, beginning and ending at the health center, 24 Gardiner St.

Dogs are welcome on the 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk. The fun run/walk will begin at 7:45 a.m. and the 5K race will start at 8 a.m. Registration for both events will begin at 7 a.m.

Advance registration for the 5K will cost $17 for adults, $12 for students and children, or $27 for families. Race day registration for the 5K will cost $20 for adults, $15 for students and children, or $30 for families. Registration for the 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk will cost $7 in advance or $10 on race day. Proceeds from the race will benefit Richmond Area Health Center.

An awards ceremony will follow the race at approximately 9:15 a.m. A grand prize will be awarded to the top overall male and female runners. Additionally, all runners will be entered into a participation prize drawing. Food and refreshments will be provided by the Richmond Area Health Center Board of Directors and staff for all registered runners/walkers during the awards ceremony.

The center also will holding its annual summer raffle. The prizes include a handcrafted Wood Duck kayak, a 43-inch smart TV, and a Char Broil two-burner gas grill. Three winners will be drawn and the prizes will be chosen in the order the winners are drawn. Winners will be announced during the Richmond Days fireworks display, the winners need not be present to win.
