The Winthrop Center Friends Church will host the free workshop Creating An Ethical Will on at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the Friends Meetinghouse, 219 Winthrop Center Road, Winthrop.
Tim Wernette, an educator trained in the process, will facilitate the two-hour workshop. Ethical wills are an opportunity to leave a non-financial legacy for family and friends/loved ones. Topics in an ethical will may include: wishes and blessings, appreciations and gratitude, regrets/mistakes/amends, personal history (including biographical information and accomplishments), life lessons and stories, significant people and events in your life, the role of religion/spirituality, ethical principles and values you have lived by, and requests (such as for a memorial service/burial).
Participants will be given hand-outs which list topics that may be included in an ethical will, will write sections of an ethical will and will be inspired to complete an ethical will for themselves and loved ones.
Freewill donations for the Winthrop Center Friends Church will be accepted.
For more information, contact Wernette at [email protected] or 377-2354.
