MOUNT VERNON — A mushroom walk with Barbara Skapa will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, starting at the Dr. Shaw Memorial Library parking lot, 344 Pond Road.
Participants should wear clothing suitable for hiking, bring a basket or bag, and a small knife for collecting mushrooms. The walk may be local, or might involve a short car trip to get to another location.
A donation to benefit the library is recommended and may be contributed the day of the event.
In the event that it is necessary to cancel because of the weather, organizers ask participants to register, which may be done by calling the library at 293-2565 or emailing [email protected].
