AUGUSTA — A Belgrade man was indicted on 21 counts, primarily burglary and theft charges, by a Kennebec County grand jury sitting at the Capital Judicial Center Thursday.

Kegan Y. Barrett, 30, was indicted on five counts of burglary, 11 counts of theft, three counts of burglary of a motor vehicle and two counts of criminal mischief.

The incidents occurred between June 1 and August 12, in the towns of Belgrade and Rome.

Items allegedly taken by Barrett included a television, cooler, tools, knives, iPods, a backpack, paddle boards, a speaker, a grill, diesel fuel, chainsaws, a generator and binoculars, according to the indictment.

An indictment is not a determination of guilt, but it indicates there is enough evidence to proceed with formal charges and a trial.
