WALES — Oak Hill High School’s Little Theater in the Woods will present its winter musical, “The Secret Garden” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 18 and 19, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at 56 School Road.

This enchanting classic of children’s literature by Frances Hodgson Burnett is reimagined in brilliant musical style by composer Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of ‘Night Mother. Orphaned in India, 11-year-old Mary Lennox (played by Rachel Lovell) returns to Yorkshire to live with her embittered, reclusive Uncle Archibald Cravin (played by James Greenwood) and his invalid son, Colin (played by Elise Worth).

The estate’s many wonders include a magic garden that belonged to Archibald’s now deceased wife, Lily (played by Haley Gunn), which beckons the children with haunting melodies and the Dreamers, spirits from Mary’s past who guide her through her life, dramatizing the Secret Garden’s compelling tale of forgiveness and renewal.

The cast includes Jeremy Thibodeau as Dr. Neville Cravin, Katie Daigle as Mrs. Medlock, Arianna Johnson as Martha, Dominick Spencer as Ben, Emma Curtis as Dickon, and Maggie Grayson as Mrs. Winthrop. The Dreamers include Susan Stinson, Aidan Tracy, Hayley Salger, Owen Desmarais, Destiny Barrett, Amara Aiken, Kendall Gervais, Marissa Morgans, Lauren L’Heureux, Christina Coleman, Ally Deditch, Tabitha Hustus and Rachel Gilbert.

The play is directed by Lucy Rioux with musical direction by Gary Fuller, Jason Paquette,and Rebecca Caron. Technical direction is provided by David Maher and his crew, Saraphin Bechard, Taylor Bubier, Autumn Chadburn, Abigail Davis, Brady Stinson, Naomi Obenhaus, Tia Orr and Maya Ham. Special wall art is provided by Jan Obenhaus.

Ticket will cost $8 for adults and $5 for students at the door.
