SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. — Police say three people were arrested during rowdy Super Bowl celebrations at the University of Rhode Island.

Campus Public Safety Director Stephen Baker tells The Providence Journal around 2,000 students poured out of the dorms Sunday night to celebrate the New England Patriots’ 13-3 victory over the Los Angeles Rams.

He says crews responded to five fires in trash containers, including one that damaged a parked state car.

No injuries were reported, but the campus was left littered in broken bottles and beer cans after crowds dispersed.

One person was arrested in connection with a fire. No names were released.
